“I have wanted one of these for 30 years! I learned touch typing on a mechanical typewriter in high school in the 1960s, but ever since I needed a laptop for work, I went back to hunt and peck since the keyboard feel was so different to me. The qwerty layout is a relic of the 19th century, intended to prevent key jamming when typing at too high a speed. I found my first voice to print program in the Windows 95 era and I haven’t missed touch typing since then. Anyone who uses a smartphone or streaming app normally sees an alphabetical keyboard layout, except for the MAX streaming app which forced me to sign up through a qwerty layout on the TV screen (ugh!). The quality of this keyboard seems excellent to me and the installation proved so simple that I missed the instructions printed on the box at first. Granted, there will be a learning curve even for those who hunt and peck, but if you don’t have a problem with qwerty then I wouldn’t think you would be looking for one of these. It would be nice to know what battery life can be expected, but I guess I will find out.”
